Thomas Stanton 1828

Born in1828 in the parish of All Saints in the centre of Northampton.

In 1841 and 1851 he lived with his mother Anne and siblings Mary, Catherine, William and Henry. His mother was widowed and they lived in Woolmonger street, Northampton.

In 1861 he was living in the centre of Northampton in St James's Terrace, St James's street. He worked as an agricultural labourer.

I am struggling to get any further back with him re his parents. Can anyone tell me how I might be able to do this please?

His mother is listed as having been born in Creeton in Northamptonshire which as I understand it, is in Leicestershire. The enumerator's transcription is so poor that the word is almost impossible to decipher on the census.

There is a marriage on the Northants Marriage Index that could be Thomas Junr. parents.

Northampton All Saints Parish Church
18 Oct 1824
Thomas STANTON otp to Ann HENSON otp

The place name on the Census would be Creaton which is in Northamptonshire.

There is also a burial as below.

All Saints Parish Church   
11 Jan 1837
Thomas Linnell STANTON of Woolmonger Street aged 33

Therefore maybe checking the Parish records of Baptisms
will confirm them to be correct.

Hi again.

I have just looked through my images of the Chuchyard and
the gravestone does not seem to have survived.

There are some for Linnells though if you need them when
sure of your lineage.

That is so helpful and thank you very much.

The mother was called Ann in one census and Jan in the other. The one with Jan in was almost impossible to read and it didn't look like Jan nor much like Creeton.

I am sure you are right and it will be Creaton and Ann. I am certain this will be her .

I will be back to you when I check out the Linnell bit.
