Hi there, very new to this and I very much appreciate the look up offers.
I understand that a lot of my family (surname is Owen) lived at Tyddyn-Y-Moch, Brithdir, Dolgellau from the 1700's until early 1900's (??). This appears to be be a farm house which is still there today.
I have attached this part of the tree as a Jpeg as it gives dates of births etc.
I am quite interested in the oldest name Owen Jones (b: 1710) of 'Bodewyn' (where is that?) as his first name was Owen, not his last name but his son's name was David Owen (born 24.02.1743, died 12.06.1816), married Ann Edward (b 10.05.1744, d: 16.02.1825) in 1768.
David and Ann's son was Edward Owen (b: 1778 d:1859) who married Jane Richard (1780-1851) in 1802, and were both resident in Tyddyn-Y-Moch, Brithdir, Dolgellau.
Any help at all with anything to do with the family is really appreciated.
This tree came from my late grandfather and I have not been able to find anything else out since.
PS now having trouble seeing how I add this photo of the tree!

If someone can tell me how to upload the pic of the bit of the tree mentioned, that would be great, or if anyone would like me to email them to it, please let me know.

I have information on this family seeing as i am a decendant too. Richard Owen and Elizabeth were my Great-Great-Great grandparents. This is what i have found out but some information may be iffy. Jane Owen their daughter married William Williams. They had a daughter Jennie (Probably Jennifer is real name). Jennie Williams married John Price 1891-? (whose brother Peter Price was killed in the 1st world war and i have some more information on them if you need it). Jennie and John has Beti Margaret Price in 1923. Beti married Gweirydd Ap Robert Rowlands (1920-1989) and they lived on Fanner Farm Dolgellau. They had 6 children. - Peter Jarret Rowlands (B.1944) who is now living on Fanner farm. He married Nia Roberts (B. 1948) in 1973. They had two children. Bethan Haf Rowlands (B.1973) who married Lester Wiffin in 2005 and they have 2 sons Lewis and Harry. Peter and Nia's other child was Geraint Prys Rowlands (B.1975) who also lives on Fanner farm. - Rhian Price Rowlands (B.1944) married Peter Howland. They had 2 sons. Christopher Emlyn Howland (B.1970) who married Elizabeth Jane Banner in 1995 and have 2 sons William and Alexander. Rhian and Peters other son is Richard Howland (B.1974) who lives and works in China currently. - Gwynedd Ap Gweirydd Rowlands (b.1950) married Lavinia Jones in 1979. They have 2 sons. Craig Rowlands (1980) and Martyn Rowlands (1983) who is a musician. - Dewi Rowlands (b.1958). - Marian Price Rowlands (b.26 Dec 1959) married Wayne Chapple (b.4 Apr 1955 Marlow, Buckinghamshire). They had 2 children. Megan Price Chapple (b.4 Aug 1990 Reading, Berkshire) who is me and i'm a student and my brother Aled was born 12 Jul 1993. - Gaynor Rowlands (b.1963) married Brian Dawne from Ireland and they currently live in South Africa for Brians work. If you have any interesting information (more than what you've said because i've got alot of your stuff already from here and on ancestry.co.uk) then can you please tell me and if you have any questions for me please dont hesitate to ask.

Thanks for your reply, good to hear from one of my Owen cousins.
Mine was posted about 6 months ago now and since then I have managed to fill in the gaps a lot, with dates, places, names etc.
I have even received some of the Owen's wills from the national library of Wales. I have Owen Jones's will, wife Mary's will and also their son's and also David Owen and Ann Edward's marriage bond.
I have photos of Tyddn y moch if you are interested in the farmhouse that Richard and Elizabeth lived in.
The tree you see posted on here is just a very basic sketch.
You can view my Owen tree on both of these links, the password on the first is Friday:
http://colinowen.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=colinowen&view=0&pid=162&rand=646468135
and the other one is the ancestry one you mentioned:
http://trees.ancestry.co.uk/fhs/home.aspx?tid=10976868&pg=42
I had a feeling that one day I would hear from a descendant of Richard's first marriage

Have you researched the rest of the ancestors yourself at all? Do you have any more info that is not shown on my ancestry tree. I got stuck at Owen Jones due to the patryonic naming system.
Ann Edwards' is on my other trees to view and so is Jane Richard.

Also, Owen Jones married a Mary Jones but I had a guess at Mary's maiden name and thought it might be Griffith as her first born daughter Anne had that middle name and that's the way they used to do it, give either the mum's maiden name or the mother's mother's maiden or first name, but I am only guessing. I am not sure what Mary's surname was

I havent found out anything else because i haven't really looked in detail yet. I do find it werid that his first name became the surname. I thought it was a mistake but there could be something behind it. Haven't got that far yet

no, it was the way that the Welsh did it back then. The patronymic naming system - have a look here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrynomic
Aldermaston - that is a coincidence

Hi I'm a decendant of Owen Jones of Dolgelly. The first one I have was born in 1806, one in 1832, another in 1853 who's daughter was Laura my great great grandmother. It looks like all of the Owen Jones' were shoe makers in the Aaron rd. area. Apart from this info I'm a little bit stuck! I know that the surname Williams seems to crop up quite alot but im not sure that im on the right path. There are also a couple of Evan Lewis Jones'
Does anyone know anything that can help please x

No sorry that seems like another family.
Chapplem - please send me a message with your email address. I can copy the wills and send you copies if you want? I also have marriage bonds and more.
Rich Owen
