From there, possible 1851 census match (obvioulsy, you'd need to confirm this with certificates)

Oliveo; Now ye've reminded me of all this, one thing returns to mind; The bit about ye Nanna's family being from " Romania " .....
Just a shrewdly educated stab at it, but ..... I'd bet a fair bit that this is just like " Gypsys " being from " Little Egypt ". Does that mean anything at all to ye? Possibly not. So, just in case, I'll elaborate.
'Legend has it' that, when the first Romany people reached england (and these would have been, as the earliest photo's still show us, extremely dark skinned people. They could as easily have passed as Indian / Pakistani or even Australian Aborigines! ) they said they were people of the 'Court of the King of Little Egypt'.
So on and so forth. One of the Kings ~ I believe it was an early George? ~ took a great shine to them and referred to them as his " Little Egyptians ". That name having become bastardised into " Gypsys ", in common parlance.
Point I'm trying to make is; It's probably more feasible that ye own 'family legend' has itself bastardised ye peoples origins. Thus, being Romanys has morphed, on the way down, into being " Romanians ", or even " Romanian Gypsys "
What ever. It certainly sounds like some of ye ancestors were indeed Romany Gypsys
Now; Where on earth is Holy Island Is that the place off the end of Anglesey?
