I've looked for both Isabella and Hannah on the 1851 c  without any success.
They could both be married by this time, of course.

hi,
Had a look on Ancestry.  There is a marriage for a Margaret Martha Pescod aged 25 (father George) to a John Close aged 22 on 12th April 1857, which ties up with the Martha aged 10 on teh 1841 census, which in turn would mean that she was probably single in 1851, although I can't find her.  The only margaret I can find is too far out in age to be the same one (26 in 1851)

Something else to note is that there is also a baptism for a Martha Margaret Pescod for 1828, father George; Mother Isabella, on 1st Oct 1828 in Newcastle.  Could there have been a Martha Margaret, before Margaret Martha?

Gwen first mentions Margaret Martha or Martha Margaret as born in 1828 to George and Isabella.

If that is same family on C1841 ( 846/3 29-5), although at 10, Martha looks to be too young to be same child as born 1828.

The census enumerator went against his procedural rules, by NOT rounding down the ages of those people who were aged 15 years and over.
He should have recorded both George and Isabella as 45 years, and Martha Mason as 60 yrs.

Could he have misunderstand the rules to the extent that he incorrectly rounded down M.M.'s age to !0, instead of recording it as 13.??

--------------------------------------------------------------

Also Gwen mentioned that George was Whickham-born ( = Co Durham) yet enumerator classifies him as Northumberland-born  ??

GenUKI web site has George/Isabella marrying 10 July 1825 ( Longbenton Parish Church)
