I had a quick look on the 1881 census but found no Mace's born in Highworth Wiltshire.  There are a number of them in Wiltshire though - have you taken a look?  (www.familysearch)

Hi,
There were 40 Mace's in Wiltshire in 1851, many from the area around Highworth but only one born Highworth.
