WHILST RESEARCHING IN THE RECORDS OF SAINT ANDREWS CATHEDRAL IN GLASGOW I CAME ACROSS THE FOLLOWING ENTRY IN THE MARRIAGE REGISTER.

" DENIS MANION BORN IN THE PARISH OF KILCUMMIN, COUNTY MAYO AND CAROLINA FAIRLEY BORN IN THE PARISH OF..............  COUNTY DOWN BUT BOTH NOW RESIDENT IN GLASGOW AFTER THE PROCLAMATION OF BANNS WERE MARRIED BY ME ON THE 11TH.OCTOBER 1833 IN THE PRESENCE OF  JOHN SHEY  AND MARION MCDONALD."

THE WORDING OF CAROLINAS' PARISH OF BIRTH AND THE NAME ITSELF LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT WHEN SHE MARRIED HENRY TWIGG, LESS THAN 3 YEARS LATER, IT WAS HER SECOND MARRIAGE AND THAT SHE WAS PROBABLY A WIDOW.

" HENRY QUIG BORN IN THE PARISH OF KILREA, COUNTY DERRY AND CAROLINA FAIRLEY BORN IN THE PARISH OF .......... COUNTY DOWN, IRELAND, AFTER THE PROCLAMATION OF BANNS WERE MARRIED BY ME ON THIS 24TH. JUNE 1836 IN THE PRESENCE OF   JAMES CAIN AND   MARY WATSON.
                                                             SIGNED    JOHN KERR  "

On her death certificate Caroline Fairleys parents are listed as Henry Fairley and Isabella Coyle.

Any information on this Fairley family or the above mentioned Denis Manion would be greatly appreciated.
