I have found an ancestor, Harrison W Tunstall on the 1871 Westmorland Census but cannot work out his place of birth.

Could sks please help me.

The enumorator? probably wrote it as he spoke

I now see what you mean about Fletcher!  I have seen many spellings of Tunstall but hadn't come across it as Tunstel until now
