Hello Rootschatters

Recently I came across a well-researched and descriptive family history which included William STEVENSON b.1836 and wife Margaret nee BARR b.1843 of Glasgow.

They had  migrated from Scotland and settled in Belmont, [now part of Brisbane near where I live]  south-east Queensland, in the mid-1800s.  They married in Brisbane in 1869

If anyone is interested, there is a good outline of their descendants, property holding, family photographs and anecdotes in the following book -

The history, a 300+ page tribute to the " Nineteenth Century Settlers in a Sunburned Land " provides an interesting insight into Queensland's pioneers.
