If they had a child in 1838 he must have been alive then so look at 1837online for the death.    It does not cost much to search.  Check FreeBMD first in case it is on that.

Thanks for that Jill

I have a new lead on Amey Jenkinson.  Her maiden name has caused problems as it could be Hancock, Ancock or even Anerk.

After receiving information today, I think it could be AUCOCK or ANCOCK.

If anyone could give me births/marriages or deaths for these names in the AUSTERFIELD area, it would be great.

Hi Sue,

I have checked the NBI 1538-2003 for Austerfield & Bawtry and there are no mentions at all for the names Aucock, Ancock, Hancock, Anock or Anerk.   Sorry!

Can I hold out  ray of hope here?  Austerfield was a chapel of ease to Blyth

There were Hancocks in Blyth not early enough on the IGI icluding a later Amy  could be a family name

I have had trouble with the registers in this area and the name was only Adams

Blyth is in Nottingham and I don't have the registers for it only a few pieces and no Hancocks however spelt.

By the way, the spelling is bizarre on some names
Doddwastranscribed as DOBB not mine but sent my friend down a blind alley.  Ask for a look up on the Notts list.
