If sks could possibly do me a lookup of a 1979 Will in the new year please I would be very grateful.
Details are as follows:
HUTCHINS Mary - Auckland - Widow Agency - BBAE Series - 1570 Box/item - Box 3081 Record - 622/1979
I think there is a good chance she is the widow of Alma George Hutchins and I'd be interested to know who is mentioned since I have only managed to find out the names of two of her three children. Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Nicola

Hi Althea
Come to think of it yes she was May Dick and the daughter was Alma May Hutchins (probably). That would tie in with her being the testator of that Will in Auckland in 1979. It would be nice to be able to confirm exactly who their children were!! I've so far not found Alma George Hutchins leaving the UK but I really can't believe there would be another poor sole called Alma George Hutchins anywhere! My grandmother always claimed he went to the US but another distant relative said New Zealand and since i've never found him in the US, I would tend to think they are one and the same. The age is slightly out since he was born Dec 1880; 22 years after my Great Great Grandfather and he wasn't the youngest of the 14 children either.
Thanks for that.
Nicola

Its never too late to find your "roots".

This may help you with your search my grandfather born about the same time as yours was Aylmer (pronounced Alma) it was quite a common boys name of the time. I had one heck of a job to get the right spelling on my Mums death cert they could not get it right. So just a possible lead. Coincidence but we are "Hutchinson" and come from UK.

Hi
It is more than 3 months since you posted your request so it would appear that we don’t have any volunteers available at the present time to go and do your lookup.
If you still require this file, did you know that you can contact the Auckland office of Archives direct to request a copy?

Yes I'm aware I could order it from them but since I got made redundant at the end of March its not really feasible at the moment.

Hi Nicola
Just letting you know that option was available….
Yes we all have to watch the pennies at the moment which is probably why there are so few offers to go to Archives, as people have to think twice about the cost of Bus/Train travel, petrol, parking fees, etc.
Good luck for the future
Regards Bren
