Hi Justin,

I belive you are already in touch with another researcher of the Evans family who is has been to a number of W.W. graves. His ancestors I think still live in the Tobberpatrick, Tinahealy area.

Hi Justin,

have been away for a few weeks, back last week. While tidying up some papers I came across the following birth, I know some of the Evans family still live in the Delgany area, and thought this may come in useul to you some day.

Births registered in the District of Delgany, in the Union of Rathdrum, in the County of Wicklow by Henry Peter Bworn, Registrar.
"Entry no 169: 18th February 1867 at Delgany:
Isaac, male, son of John Evans, Delgany and Rosciak (I think?) formerly Gerrard, father's occ = Farmer. Birth was registered by John Evans, Father, Delgany 26th February 1867."

Have finally worked out the relationship of yourself and my son-in-law.

Richard Ayres (Ernest) Evans bc 1871-12 Nov 1923: Married 22nd October 1879
Margaret Doyle bc 1860 - 16th February 1937.
The great grandparents of Justin & John P Corkish
children of above
     1 John Evans 1884 - 1963 maried Elizabeth ?
          1a Myles Evans = nitsuj's Father

     2 Julia Evans 1886 - 1966 married c 1911 to Thomas Corkish 1885 - 1947
          2a Thomas Philip Corkish 1919 - 1989 My son-in-law's father

You are 2nd cousins, as you both share the same great grandparents

The above Richard & Margaret were the great-great grandparents of John Goodman which makes him your 2nd cousin once removed

I have just came across this tonight...my name is Thomas Pender and I am a great grandson of Myles Lawless and Elizabeth Kelly...the information on the evans family is great as i only knew of an Ernest, but nothing else....I would like to fill in as many gaps as I can and can supply a lot of information on the Lawless side of the family. I will be back on tomorrow and add some details...can you all also fill in some details as to names etc of current families...myself and my sister Eileen Pender have the family tree on a site and we can give a lot of information and perhaps ask you to join our tree. Hope to hear from you soon.
Best wishes to all,
Tom.

Hi Justin,
Great to hear from you and to make contact with another cousin.
Rather than add a load of stuff here, I have invited you to join our family tree.
There you will see where my sister Eileen and I have got to so far...we continue to work on things.
Please enjoy and add to your side of things as we would love to have as complete a picture as possible of the family.
Once again...great to make contact with you and I'm sure we will have many communications going forward.
Best wishes,
Tom.

Hi Folks,

I have just come across your post and signed up - I am part of the Evans Family from Delgany/Greystones - I have been working on my family tree for the last few years - Unfortunatly I have left Ireland before I started so its taking me longer to do it that expected - I have just posted an updated version of my tree on Ancestry, which in the last 2 months I have got farther than the ast 2 years - Also if you check out www.nationalarchives.ie the 1911 census is now online and has a lot of infomation on it.

Believe it or not I actually grew up in Powerscourt and I am aware of some Evans living and working on the estate, I have not managed to fit them into my tree (Yet) but I also have a lot of blanks still to fill out.

Please check out my tree and feel free to contact me for any info.
