Hi,
I am trying to track down Jane Midwinter b. c. 1770 in the Swinbrook/Burford area. She married Robert Pittaway in 1795 in Taynton and is recorded as being from Swinbrook. I'd be very grateful if anyone could check the Swinbrook or Burford baptism records for an entry for her around 1770 (1770 - 1775, say).

Christened 26 Dec. 1770, Butford
Father; Joseph Midwinter
Trish
Marriage to Robt. is on there too
Also possible Marriage;
Jos. Midwinter to Rebecca Johnson 26 July, 1769, Butford

Hi Trish,
I also have the same Jane Midwinter, chr. 26 Dec 1770, with Edward Midwinter as her father. I'm hoping that someone with access to the actual parish records (instead of IGI) can set me straight.

Hi Matthew, I have checked the Burford PR's and good news.
I have found Jane Midwinter daughter of Jos(eph)no mothers name. Baptised Dec.26 1770.
I think this is probably your Jane
No siblings found.

Thanks - this is proving incredibly useful. Could you check whether there is a baptism entry for Joseph Midwinter, c. 1740, in Burford. I realise that his marriage entry has him hailing from Langford but other information I have has him in Burford at birth at least.

Do you think you could see how far back the Midwinters go in the Burford records? I'm trying to confirm a link with the Midwinter line from Northleach in Gloucestershire.
