Yep Joseph Cutler is the son of John (1814-1886), cousin to my Reuben (1838-1912), son of William (1810-1884). Frances married again after Joseph. I think I have a picture of her somewhere, I just need to find it. Or it might have been one of her daughter Frances who married Fred Fletcher.
Oh found it on computer - I think it is day Frances who married Fred Fletcher, Fred and Frances are on right hand side. Also, Owen Henry Cutler (Frances' second cousin, son of Reuben) has a cross above his head, and so does his wide stood next to him. Fred Fletchers parents are seated at front, I think the person who sent it me said. It was taken 1925 and was a garden party.
Yes Edwin Druce is the right one - I have a contact who remembers him and May. Roger still lives in Frieth apparently.
Crikey everyone is inter-related! Shall have to compare notes, if you've delved into the Cutlers.

This could be your Joseph Cutler? Taken from a letter from a friend:
Lane End Wesleyan Chapel Records: 1902. Mr Joseph Cutler paid 10/- towards the cost of electric[ity] being put in the chapel.
The first chapel was actually built on land that belonged to Joseph Cutler's grandfather, William (1775-1853) and was bought in 1820 for £8.
31 Dec 1903 - Paid by Mr Cutler, Coal bill, 12/- per ton Feb 1904 - Paid by Mr Cutler, Coal bill, 13/4 per ton Dec 1904 - Paid by Mr Cutler, Coal bill, 12/- per ton Coal supplied by Fletchers (of whom FRED FLETCHER = FRANCES CUTLER was head of company, or his father was).
I have alot of info about the Cutlers if you want some..
Matt
Altered: Should read: .. 1834 for the sum of £8

I don't know if this is something you are interested in but I have the banns for Joseph Cutler to Frances Ann West, but forgot to get the cert - they married at West Wycombe.
Joseph Cutler was born 1 July 1839 at Lane End and married Frances on 24 Apr 1861 at West Wycombe (her home parish).
Their son Frederick married Eliza Kezia Keep, banns published: 18, 25 May and 1 June 1883.
Frances married Frederick William Fletcher in 1900
Sorry I don't know about the others.

Joseph died in 1903 aged 64 and Frances married for a second time, I think to someone named Harris and she was present at the death of someone named Frances Harris. But I can't find a ref on Free BMD for this.

Hi royd Are your Druce's related to the Druce's who had the village shop (newsagent/sweet shop) in the 1970's and 80's? I remember it very well!
Yes JLo, May and Edwin Druce are the ones who owned the shop in Lane End before moving to Frieth. It all links back!!

Manchester, Salford, Ancoats way. My Great-grandfather Walter William Cutler moved to Manchester and he married in 1889 Cheetham to Mary Ann Bennell.
His daughter, Emily, b. 1899, married Robert Gadd in 1922 at Harpurhey. They are my great-grandparents and I have been trying to find Robert's family but have only got back to 1800 with his mother Harriet (who's maiden name I don't know) because his father died in early 1837 so not in GRO indexes to get cert.
the line is: William Gadd = Harriet > Robert Gadd = Ann Coffin > William Gadd > Frances (Leather?) > Robert Gadd = Emily Cutler > Joyce Gadd.
Joyce is my grandmother.
I don't know if you can help lol

I remember Druce's shop really well (particularly the sweets department ). We were only talking about it the other day on the drive to Lane End. If either of you want any photos taken around the village (or Cadmore End) let me know.
Just to throw another one into the mix - do either of you have William Harold Cutler (known as Harry) in your trees? He was born 1908 in High Wycombe and lived in High Wycombe all his life. His parents were William Edward Cutler b.c.1869 and Mary Annie Rogers. Just thought I'd ask on the off chance??
