Well Royd I can tell you that there aren't any Druce mentions in the Wesleyan Methodist Circuit. I'll ask a friend if any appears in the Primitive Methodist booklets he has.

If either of you want any more Lane End lookups please ask it's within copyright so all legal etc, and don't want you to be out of pocket by buying the PR's.

Royd, I am afraid that there are no West Wycombe PR's on disc available from the Bucks FHS so the Bucks Record office is the best bet; but not easily accessable. The IGI has wide coverage of West Wycombe Baptisms (up to 1875); here are the batch numbers (Google 'IGI custom' and click on the custom search; enter the batch no in the batch no box). I'd love the West Wycombe PR's to become available too because I have alot of Harris' in West Wycombe. The only other option I can say Royd is the Bucks Database searches for one surname for 100 years... it's only £3. And it would give you all the West's at West Wycombe etc. but only for one surname. I have used this facility for Cutler's in buckinghamshire fron 1599-1900 and it has cost a grand total of £27 for C, M and B. Not bad. You can even get lists of Monumental Inscriptions.

Royd here is the URL for the Bucks Database searches:

No Selena I didn't catch Countryfile but shall catch up with it on iPlayer. Sounds interesting, I have generations of bodgers and chair turners.

Thanks Matt.  What a pity about the West Wycombe records.  Will take a look at the site you mention.  Are there any West among the Primitive Methodists do you know?  I can't find my father's baptism anywhere at the moment so just wondered.

Thanks once again. Grin

Royd I realise I didn't send you the IGI batches
C = Baptisms, M = Mariages, E = Misc.

What's your father's name? I can see if my friend has a mention of him. I don't have the books myself. If they are in there I'd advise you to buy them; they're helpful....

Thanks for those Matt.  My father's name was William George West born 1913.  His siblings were Millicent 1915, Rose c1918 and Roland 1921.  This is without checking on the tree as I'm on my way out!!  Their parents were William Ewart West and Daisy (nee Druce but born Marlow).

Can you give me a little more info on the books please?  Thanks, catch you later. Regards. R.

I have asked my friend to check the books. I don't know when he'll reply, he's not a RootsChatter. I have also aked about the siblings too.

The book is available from the Eureka Partnership for £5:

FULL TITLE:  High Wycombe Primitive Methodist Circuit - Baptisms 1832-1838 & 1844-1873.

This booklet contains a transcription of the entries from the earliest extant registers of the High Wycombe Primitive Methodist Circuit.  Entries include persons living in Amersham, Aston Clinton, Beaconsfield, Bledlow, Bradenham, Burnham, Chalfont St. Giles, Chesham, Dorney, Farnham Royal, Great Missenden, Hedgerley, High Wycombe, Hughenden, Penn, Princes Risborough, Radnage, The Lee, Wendover, West Wycombe and Wooburn.

Oh so looking at those dates he won't find Williams' baptism.. then it is the record office (They hold original registers).

sorry

Hi Matt, I have a feeling this may be part of Selina's tree because there was a Shadrach there I think.  I haven't really moved into the 20th century with the Druce's so maybe I should.

It's the West family who are keeping me busy at the moment as I am trying to complete as much as I can so that I can print it out for a relative who will be 50 next month!  Regards. Royd.
