Tullock Castle
« on: Tuesday 30 December 08 13:23 UTC (UK) »

Hello:
I just got some wonderful news on the Davidson family. I have been searching the Davidson's of Antrim, Ireland for a few years and over the holidays, I got a good lead that they came from Tullock Castle in Scotland. The big question is.... Is there any way of finding when they left Scotland to Ireland.

Hi Tom  Smiley

You don't mention any dates - are they the Benjamin Davidson and Elizabeth Macdonald that you mention on this thread:

The name of the castle is actually Tulloch Castle and it is in Dingwall (is now a hotel and I recently attended a wedding there), you should find plenty of good information if you google the name.

Here's the link to the castle site itself with some snippets of history on the various links

The Scotlands People website are showing 26 Davidsons born/baptised in Dingwall between 1750 and 1854. No Benjamins though.

It's difficult to search without names or dates.

It would also be very difficult to find a departure for Ireland for them as this was a movement within Britain.

small but nice Hotel where my daughter was married this past summer - excellent meal by the way!

Here's a couple of photos of the Castle.
