Fanny Ann McKinley married John Robinson on 14 DEC 1871 in Ballymore COI. Fanny Ann McKinley was from Horn Head & her father was Wm. McKinley. John Robinson was probably from Dunfanaghy. John Robinson's father was also John & his mother was possibly Eliza. Fanny Ann (nee McKinley) Robinson died about 10-15 years after her wedding. John & Fanny Ann's children (Andrew, Wm., & Margaret) then went off to live with relatives in Canada. Margaret & Andrew returned to Donegal ca. 1888, possibly after their father, John Robinson, had remarried.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Rootschat. IGI (www.familysearch.org) lists 2 children of John and Fanny Robinson: 1. Robert John born 3 Mar.1876 Co. Donegal 2. Margaret born 9 Feb.1878 Dunfanaghy district, Donegal (mother listed as McRinley instead of McKinley- perhaps certificate difficult to read)

Thank you very much. I had this information already. I'm really looking for info on the parents, grandparents, etc. of these children.

I posted the details for the 2 children (from IGI) as I wasn't sure if you had the information (your 1st post didn't mention Robert John). Now that you have explained what you are hoping to find I'll post a few comments about Irish records and where you might be able to search next.
Civil registration of births, deaths and Catholic marriages began 1864 (from 1845 for other marriages). Therefore, there will be no birth certificates for John Robinson and Fanny McKinley or their parents. You have the marriage of John and Fanny which would list their fathers' names and occupations but for any earlier family records you need to search for church records (if they exist). To do so you need to know the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland).
You might find this booklet on researching Donegal ancestors helpful if you haven't seen it already: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~donegal/genbooklet.pdf

Thanks again. I've checked the IGI & COI church records, but to no avail. I made my post in the hope that someone else might make a connection with my Dunfanaghy McKinley & Robinson families.

from Slaters commercial directory of 1870 - Dunfanaghy section
just two Robinsons :
Mary Robinson - Schoolmistress Charles Robinson - Spirit & Porter Dealer
there are no McKinley/McKinly entries but quite a few McGinleys - could there have been a mistranscription or mis-hearing somewhere along the line ?
For McGinley there's a Baker, a Boot & Shoe maker, 2 carpenters, a China, Glass & Earthenware dealer, 2 grocers, a leather seller, 2 spirit & porter dealers, 2 tailors, a Timber iron & Coal merchant and a Tin plate worker.
let me know if you want the full details of these
Shane

Thanks Shane. I believe that my McKinleys were from Horn Head. The McKinley name is very clear on a marriage certificate that I have. My Robinsons lived in Dunfanaghy (possibly Horn Head) & worked as fishermen. Family tradition has it that they caught lobsters & peddled them door to door....
