I see that the mother's name is a Mary, father John.

It's one of those strange Batch numbers with no details, although a C  Undecided

If I were you, I'd risk purchasing the birth certificate - ref as above Reply #14

This will give mother's maiden name and father's occupational details

I don't see a marriage  on the IGI. I'll check FreeBMD

Only one showing for a John McQuire with a Mary on the same page is Sept Q, 1838, Ashton u Lyne to a Mary Simester.

There's no way of knowing if this is them.

Lots of variations on the surname showing for various dates in the 1840s in the wider area  Undecided
