grandfather stepsister ?

 in researching my grandfather military career from 1897 we found that he had a stepsister this was the first we knew of her  it also gave his mothers name and his brothers I would like to find out more about his stepsister  how would I go about  getting more information on this be grateful for any help.

One of the great grandparents married twice. You'll have to do some research on four people to find out which one was the parent.
