Ernest Gould Revisiting...help needed please
« on: Tuesday 06 January 09 11:18 UTC (UK) »

Hi
Can anyone help looking up Ernest Gould he died in the Cleckheaton area between 1917 and 1920.Im after a reference for a death certificate as i think he is an Non CWGC commemorated soldier. He was discharged from the KOYLI with lung problems and is on the local WM but not on National Debt Of Honour so need to get the evidence from DC of his cause of death.

Thanks
Ady

Hi Everyone
Great news is that Ernest is to be recognised on the National Debt Of Honour by CWGC in due course the evidence i submitted was approved by MOD last week

What i need now is to locate his grave.
The Rev from St Micheals East Ardsley says he isnt listed in his church burial book although the NBI states he was buried there in May 1917.
Would there be anymore archive info that will list the location of his grave even if its unmarked?

It would be nice for Ernest to get a CWGC headstone.

Any ideas or help much appreciated

Hi Ady.....

That is wonderful news ! Well done......

I can't help really, but can confirm that Ernest, was buried at St Michaels, East Ardsley , 3rd May 1917

Even if his grave was not marked, or if he was interred in a paupers grave ,there should be some record of his burial, and the location there of.......
