Couldnt find them in 1871, or 1881 or their deaths for, I did look on freebmd and found a John Jacobs who died in 1915, Whitechapel.  John's grandson had remembered that John had died about 1919, so not a bad memory hey.  I am afraid I am running around in circles trying to sort this family out.  Now that we settled the problem of Rebecca/Rebekah being Adelaide Ann,  it doesnt still sort out why she/they used so many different parents names on their children's birth. 
I can now look for her birth 1862-1864 in either London City or Bishopsgate.  I now need to sort Hyman & his son out.  As Hyman's records are in Poland/Prussia/Germany that might take some doing, but one thing I do know is that he was married to Henrietta Friedman both born Poland around 1832/4.  But do not have anything else on Hyman.   Only that Philip Jacobs could be a relation to him, Philip owned 14 Artillery Passage where Rebecca is named as tenant or worker on her marriage cert?  regards Pauline

These are the children of John (Jacob) & Rebecca (Rebekah/Lydia/Olivia) Winslow strange isnt it that with two of the births their father was Jacob Jacobs & Rebecca, and with one John Jacobs & Lydia & with another John Jacobs & Olivia, I wonder what names they used with the three I dont have the information on?
And isnt it kind of weird that they hardly used their correct names, I wonder why?
Hyman born Mar q 1884
Amelia June q 1885 (parents Jacob Jacobs & Rebecca)
Katherine Esther Mar q 1887 (parents Jacob & Rebecca)
Edward Aaron Mar q 1891 (parents John Jacobs & Lydia)
Florence Henrietta born 1893 (parents John Jacobs & Olivia)
Rose Lydia sept q 1895
Adelaide May Mar q 1900

I have just read your thread with interest as I am also researching the Winslows in Shoreditch are area for a friend.

I don't know whether this is relevant but I have just found a marriage for Adelaide Winslow, on the London marriages on Ancestry.

Dec 9th 1980 at St Matthews in St George in the East.

James Whitwell 25 Bachelor labourer 19 Till? Street   father John Whitwell labourer

Adelaide Winslow 24 Spinster none 19 Till Street  father William Winslow coal baker

Witnesses Robert Upton-Jones and Ann White

Hi, thank you for your interest however, I am looking for Adelaide Winslow who married John Jacobs.  Recently I found out that she changed her name when she married John, and became Rebecca/Rebekah, which I am told is a tradition in the Jewish church.  Thanks again regards Trish
