Jade, The IGI is the International Genealogical Index, a massive collection of Births, Deaths and Marriages, BMD. It is produced by the Church of the Latter Day Saints, LDS, Mormons, and is freely available to everyone. It is not totally reliable but is a very good starting point. It can be found at www.familysearch.org The Griffith's valuation is one of the lists which we Irish use instead of a census. In the first World War the government pulped some of our census documents to alleviate the paper shortage and in 1922 we managed to burn the remainder in a civil war. The first complete census of Ireland is 1901 and that is not on line yet but we live in hope. With no Census information we use what are known as census substitutes and Griffith's is one. It was a survey of all property holdings in Ireland carried out between about 1848 ?? and 1864 and lists the name of the property holder and his or her landlord. If you want more detailed information I will do them in a personal message, PM, to you
Regards

Hi Jude,
I`m not related, but I am doing some research for another woman, Eunice, who seems to be related.
I have found that Eunice`s great grand parents are Hugh Mitchell and Margaret Kane. I have Margaret Kane`s death record, that states her parents are: John Kane and Susanna Blair. Margaret was 45 at the age of death, she died on: 9 Jun 1919 at 54 McLean St., Govan, Glasgow, (Plantation) Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Contact me directly please at my email, lets share some info. (*)
Cheers, Tammy Mitchell
