Hello Tassie,
Thank you for your welcome to Rootsweb and
Thank you for this great amount of information. It was just great.

I am looking for Baptism for William Piggott who married Isabell Wilson on 29th September 1631.
And if possible, a marriage for William Baptised 12 Feb 1632 and Edmund baptised 1st January 1638.

I have gradually been working my way back to this line.
My husband Neville was the G.G.G.Grandson of Thomas and Elizabeth Piggott nee Plater marrie Haddenham 1809.
Kind regards
Swannie

   Hi Swannie ....

My own line(Walker) comes from Chearsley hence having a copy of the PR records.
It is very close to the Oxfordshire borders as well .
The marriage in 1631 in my copy only has the names for the couple and no other details are given .
It is a while since I looked at the micro film for the village but it may state place of residence.
Mine also went "down the road " to Dinton another little village.
however two possible show on IGI and in Bucks .
William Piggot 3 feb 1599 Lower Winchendon( father Thomas)
William Piggot 26 oct 1617 Long Crendon ( father William).
The 1617 may be a late baptism btu also just about possible.
Both villages within the right sort of distance. They seem to have stayed in area to have a line in Haddenham in the early 1800's

I will let you know if I find anymore .
Also I would remove you e-mail addy as some people read the site looking for info like that. I can send a personnal message to you via the site.

Hello  Tazzie,
The William Piggott born 1599 looks very promising, but I will need to do a little bit more researching to be able to prove that he is the one.Alot of my Piggott family only got married in there 30s and alot, not at all. If it is ,then you have just given me another generation. This will be great news.I maybe able to purchase a Will,as most had land and this will give out some names .
Will let you know how I get on.
Did any of your Walker family marry into any Piggott,Eagleton/Plater/Ing /Lane families.?Just thought that I would ask,as I maybe able to help you somewhere down the line.Take care,
Swannie.

   Hi Swannie....

Had a look for various Piggott/Pigotts today to see if anything came to light.

Posse Comitatus list all men who could be called on to fight in 1798. The Bucks list is the only county to survive.

  Haddenham.. Thomas Piggott  serv
                         John Pigott  farmer
          his sons David Pigott
                        John Pigott jnr
                        William Pigott

                        Thomas Pigott lab
                        William Pigott lab.

John Pigott the farmer had at his dispersal... 5 horses 2 waggons 3 carts.

Some names that may lead somewhere are for the Wichendon's.

   Bucks wills proved to 1660.
Ford Dinton      Pycot wife of John 1485
  Upper Wichendon   Alice Pycot 1490
  Wichendon             Henry   1633
Nether Wichendon Henry a husbandman 1634
Lower Wichendon Edward a yeoman 1640
Other than the Pycot name the other vary as Piggott/ Pigott .
Wills from 1660 to 1858 only go as far as N in the indexes.
National Archives has a few hits for wills in Bucks but may be worth contacting the Bucks family history society.
They can do a blanket search on the name using their collection of parishe records and other info gathered over the years. It may help pull the lines together for you.

Hello Tazzie,
Thank you yet once again for your great information. You certainly know where and what to look for.
I know just where these Piggotts fit in. I, only 4 days ago, purchased the PRs for Piggott for Buckinghamshire and have instintly found  a wealth of information Cheesy
As you seem to know alot about records,is there anywhere, online that I may purchase records of Letter of Administation D-HO.
and a  number of Copy of Amission. They are all to do with land, but do not seem to be Wills but in saying that, they could be.Also, another that I am after is a record of one of my relations serving in the Infantry 1826-1847 This one is a WO most probably the W O is the War Office. Any information on where to purchase these on .line would be appreciated.
Or if you could tell me where to go to purchase these as I am hoping to visit Haddenham/Aylesbury in April this year.
As you live in nearby, maybe we could meet and have a coffee when I visit.
Once again, thank you so much,Swannie  Smiley

  Oooo..... now you're talking techie.
The record office at Aylesbury hold a fantastic amount of paperwork so contacting them may be a place to start. I haven't had much "land " in the family in Bucks they just worked on it for others Grin.
As well as Bucks family history group there is  Buckinghamshire Genealogical Society they are also online and they hold documents that Bucksfhs do not have access to. Some of their members are looking at Pigott in Haddenham. As to WO yes I think war office as well maybe a question for the armed forces section on here as they may turn something up.
Another good tip  .....The Eureka Partnership.... they publish small copies of books... ie Posse Comitatus  various militia ballot lists  they are local to Bucks .
If you get a date let me know as I would have to get over between school hours I am job hunting at the moment as well ....back in the big wide world....scary.
