Maldon Parish Records

I have just spent an interesting hour looking at the parish records for Maldon . They are mainly births and burials and can be found on SEAX the Essex Record Office site. There are loads of pages to look at and they are easy to view. I must have browsed about 60pages.

we are just starting to work on these records in FreeREG - and will work through all parishes as time permits.

It will be good to see the registers on Free Reg --makes reading them easier.Essex seem to be working hardto get records on line---Well done. A piy other counties cant follow suit.

Hopefully in time other counties will follow Essex's lead - I guess though it is a large investment and only the more populated counties will  have the funds to devote to it without extra help.

It is early days for Essex on FreeREG - only about 28000 entries so far - but it will grow now we have the images to work on.
