So where did you get 1883 Buckinghamshire from as his birthyear/birthplace if he is the one b Hendon which is in Middlesex?

There is no point sending for the 1883 birth cert until you are sure of your info

              Carole has just posted what I was getting at .
If at death he was 29 his birth is out by 6 years to be the Harry b Bucks 1883. Now for and "old man" a few years in age is nothing but to a still young man of 29 ... 6 years is a lot.

  I would first order the marriage cert to find out if father is given. Also witnesses and addresses may help pinpoint the correct family .
At this stage I would not go straight for the birth cert for the 1883 Harry until I knew I had the right one .

This was the only Harry I found originally and mistakenly assumed he was the right one. Thanks to your corrections, the 1889 Harry ties in with marriage and death dates. I'll buy the birth cert for 1889 and take it from there.

The 1901 entry you mention was born Kilburn and you will find him on the 1891 as Henry aged 1 month son of William & Ellen.  William was a bootmaker

You need Harry & Susannah's marriage cert to check his age, and his fathers name and occupation before you buy any birth certs

OK, getting frustrated here, off on hols tomorrow but would rather be staying to carry on with this! I'll heed your advice and start again when I get back. Thanks for your help.
