James Frederick LEAH m. Lucy Millicent BOWDLER Brimington 1911 Census
« on: Tuesday 13 January 09 22:04 UTC (UK) »

Hi  Smiley

I've found one of my first cousins (once removed) on the 1911 census living at 42 High Street,  Brimington:

James Frederick Leah, 22, labourer coke ovens, Ironworks, b. Altrincham, Cheshire
Lucy Millicent Leah, wife, 22, b. Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Marriage had lasted 1 year

Unfortunately, I can't find a marriage on FreeBMD for James F or a birth reg for a Lucy (Millicent) in Shropshire so don't know Lucy's maiden name  Sad

James was the second son of my Grandfather's sister (Mary Jane Wilson) who m. James Leah in Altringham in 1883. They had 2 sons and 2 daughters  I have the  family history  up to 1911 and I'm now trying to piece together their lives afterwards. James is giving me problems  Sad

Does anyone recognise this couple?  I'd love to find any children born to them.

Any help appreciated.

Think I might have found Lucy's surname. There's a Lucy Millicent Bowdler, march q, 1910, Chesterfield vol 7b p 1304  - 3 females and 1 man on that page. I'll go check the full GRO index.*

* checked - he's there  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I'd still be interested in hearing from anyone who recognises these people  Smiley
