Hi all

Was wondering if anyone had any matching people in there tree?
I am looking into one branch of my tree the details are:

Mothers name: Mary Sullivan b 1870 in Seacombe, Wirral

She married a Joseph Michael Clinch b 1865 Liscard, Wirral

They had a couple of children from 1887 to 1891 when Joseph Clinch died.

Mary then had another child in 1904 by the name of Marion "Clinch".
Obviously Joseph could not be the father but on Marions marriage certificate her fathers name is down as Joseph Clinch. Marion then married Charles william boyd and later she gave birth to my grandad (who has now past away).

On her brith cert there is no father named.  Undecided

Does anyone know how else i could look into this other than what i have already done?

Do you mean on Marion's birth cert?  If no father named on that there's probably no way you could find out who he was, if she was born after Joseph died

She perhaps gave his name as her father on her marriage cert as that was what she'd been told, or didn't know her real father's name and didn't want to leave that blank
