Looking for 3x great grandfather

At the moment I am tracing my Gerrard line.

So far I know that John Gerrard married Ellen White on 19 February 1876 in Navan, Meath, Ireland. They are my 3x great grandparents.

I got the above information from IGI and I found the same information on the site http://ifhf.brsgenealogy.com/index.php so I think it must be accurate.

John died in England on 18 April 1900 aged 39. I have his death certificate.

John and Ellen's first child, Julia (my 2x great grandmother) was born on 17 December 1876 in Navan, Meath.

Yesterday my mum showed my grandma the information I have so far on this line.

My uncle said that John and Ellen were only 15 years old when Julia was born.

When my mum told me what he'd said, I agreed but told her that ages are rounded up or down by about 5 years on the census.

I have John and Ellen's birth year as 1861 which I got from ancestry.

What do you think?

I haven't been able to find John's birth yet.
