Hi,
Does anyone have easy access to the parish registers of Prestbury.
I am looking for any christening, marriage or burial of people with the surname Adley, Aidley, Audley or any other varient spelling.

I am looking for an easier way to ploughing through microfilms at Chester.

some of Prestbury records are on ancestry because I found a marriage of an ancestor married in 1792 - however it was more due to good luck than management because I couldn't tell you where to find them.  I suspect they may be only on the .com rather than the .uk.

The IGI does have some Prestbury records, but those I've found have been"submitted" by members rather than transcriptions from the registers & have to be taken with the usual pinch of salt.

If you have some data there's a thread on this board for marriage look-ups pre 1837 - that covers Prestbury.

Otherwise apart from Chester the registers are available on film at Macclesfield Library & at Manchester Central Library - both from 1560 on to beyond 1837 - if either of these is more convenient for you.

I had a quick look at ancestry last night without much success. I will have another look at the weekend

Mshrmh,
I am doing a one name study (Audley) and was therefore hoping for a wide scan of dates (1750 to 1837).  My message was speculative hoping that someone would know of an indexed transcript. I live reasonably close to Chester but as I work I can only get to the record office the one saturday in the month that it is open.
