Looking for any info on JAMES COYLE born in ireland   abt 1868 .1901 census shows him living at 253 bank street. occupation blast furnace forman,this is 2nd great grand father ,which iron works did he work ,any details at all will help .

hi larky.

have you tried the 1891 sensus for james? also do you know if he was married ? marriage certificate will give parents names,also mothers maiden name. some sensus returns (if your lucky) list county in ireland as place of birth.

Larky,
           There were many Iron & Steel Works in Coatbridge, the lights in the night sky from the Furnaces were likened to Hell. Summerlee Iron Works still exists as a Heritage park and that would be a good place for you to start :-

Bank Street, being the main road through Coatbridge, passes close to Summerlee.
I have photos of the place and there are many on Google Images.
