Hi Dave,

Is Rutherglen on the right side of town for you - just asking?

If it is, would love a photo of the railway station, which my father-in-law took great pride in keeping in spic and span order way back when - Used to win prizes for it I believe.    I wonder what it looks like now.

They lived in semidetached houses on high side of main road in Rutherglen - near the road going up a steep hill to some park or other - how's that for a good description       Grin    - I've been there years ago but can't remember any names - or . . . maybe Stonelaw Road - would that be it?   - dredged up from the depths of memory.  If R'glen is the wrong side no matter!

Cheers,

Wiggy

Bugger!

Passed through Rutherglen coming back from York Meet on Wednesday!

I wouldn't normally have any reason to go to Rutherglen but if weather keeps up, I might make a wee trip.  A short train journey gets me there.

I have a long list of places to go but will get to them all eventually.

You are correct with Stonelaw Road.  It runs off the beginning of Main St - very much changed since I was there last.

Hi Dave,

Am I to late to ask for a photo please?  That's if it's not too far out of the way.

71 Braeside Street, Glasgow.  Hope there's still something standing.

Never too late Alison as long as you don't mind a wait.
Braeside St is off Maryhill Road which is north of the city.
Other end of town from me but not too hard to get to.

Will send you a PM.

Dave

At an early age of 3-4yrs I remember living in Killdonan drive. The street will do. I moved to 62 Grant street, Just off Georges road Front and back of that house would be great, i have many fond memories of that house. I use to walk to Willow bank primary school which i do believe is now an Asian school. I have many more address's but have to ask my eldest brother if he can remember them. Thank you so much. I dont live in Scotland any more, Sadly. So what you are doing is a god send.

Hello Dave,

If you are out and about near any of these places, please take a photo for me.

1 Enfield St, Rutherglen, where my g grandfather died.

United Presbyterian Church, Western District, Cadder

Easter Qu Farm House, Shettleston

39 Carnbroe, Upper Row

I would also like a better photo of this Ness gravestone in the Glasgow Necropolis.

That will keep you out of mischief, eh Wink

Many thanks
