married in The 1st Garvetagh Presbyterian Church
« on: Monday 19 January 09 10:03 UTC (UK) »

I'm trying to help a friend who has got notes from a distant relative on their family tree.......
the family members  left Moville, Ireland aboard the S. S. Hibernia and arrived in Castle Clinton on April 13th, 1868. [they have details]
according to the notes his Ancestors married in The 1st Garvetagh Presbyterian Church in or near Bristeen,[We can find no such place] its since been suggested

NOT Bristeen  but  resided in Priestsessagh, Ardstraw Parish
John H. Orr and Mary A. McCormick May have married there on June 20th, 1850.

can anyone shed any light on this and where we can get a copy or marriage cert etc they have tried most links but found nothing yet.....appreciate ANY SUGGESTIONS
thanks sofee

Closest Presbyterian church with the name Garvetagh that I can think of is Garvagh in Co. Londonderry.
Have a list of Presbyterian Churches in Co. Tyrone but nothing close beginning with G or enging with agh. See:

Looks like it could be the right place. If they were married there the marriage certificate should be available to order.
