Thomas Roberts & Mary Ann Walder 1864 Marriage

Hi Heb66
Which years was this? The more recent, the more likely there were a couple or a few parish churches to worship at.

Hi Ben...the year is 1911.
I've tracked the Paynes since 1790's and now want to move forward to find some living ancestors for a change.
Also, another address to throw into the mix Shawhurst Lane, Hollywood ,Kings Norton would it come under the same parish church?
Being a Gloucester girlie not sure of area.....big thanks for you time and reply.
Helen.

Hi
St Nicholas Church is the major one. Are we talking about the Kings Norton in Birmingham or the one in Leicestershire?

I have found the following very useful as it helps to narrow things down to street level and makes it easier to find the neighboring parish as it shows the actual boundaries. I have found that sometimes a place falls into the next parish even though it is only the other side of the road. I assume the boundaries are modern day but still very useful.

Hi lubylou, Well, that's amazing! I was rethinking strategies on where to look next for my elusive ancestor, based on last known abode and marriage, and thinking I could do with finding parish boundaries - and up comes this post! Divine intervention, maybe! The site I posted is good, but this is much better - I used my site to try to locate a possible burial place, but the church my ancestor was buried at didn't show up (so it obviously isn't a complete datebase). I spent about a year and half exploring different places - some in other counties, as nothing was showing up. And finally, just browsing on the internet (looking for inspiration) up came St. John's Church, Kate's Hill, which is only about a mile and a half from where they lived. Because this is not one of the churches which is usually featured, and I don't know the area in depth, I had missed this church completely! The site you've given us is certainly very useful - off to check those parish boundaries! Wonderful! Thank you so much. Paulene
