Hi Jim/Otto/Archie.

Thank you for all your search results and posting. I can only apologies for not replying. I have been out of the country for a while. I took my son back to South Africa to meet the family.

I have looked at the documents that I have that states that he was born in 1876 and it is fairly clear and the 6 is definitely a 6. His death papers also indicate that he was 69 years old when he died in 1945.

you dont give up in genealogy, did you follow up ? the Lightbody family tree in volume 11 which is in the Blackwood Family history manuscript trees in the LinenHall library, Belfast.
have you tried your search on other boards, eg belfast forum, ulsterancestry etcbest of luck
i will try another tack perhaps
