I was speaking to a relative in Wales at the weekend and was told that 1911 census for Wales will be available in April, when, they didn't know, so not long now.

on the 1911 blog on April 8th, it said the scanning of the Welsh counties was well under way, No precise date for the release but some data available within 4-6 weeks.

So I'd unbate your breath if I were you, as you'll run out of oxygen long before Wales is available otherwise.

Now it's here and my family seem to have vanished into thin air, I can't find any of them; Grandfather, father, uncles and aunts seem to have disappeared!!. One Great Uncle also seems to have gone astray. I'll keep looking though. Sixty credits have gone in 15 mins searching. Too many people with the same names.

However, I have found a "step- great- grandmother". She is listed on the 1911 census with my G.G.F. and a Great Uncle (name slightly incorrectly transcribed). Further investigation via Free B.M.D. shows my G.G.M. died Dec 1901 and my G.G.F. married again in Dec 1902 and, by the time of the 1911 census, had moved address to the next village/hamlet.

Hi,

Llwyd, have you tried their initials?  ( for the  Christian names) . The reason Why I'm asking, I took an hour trying to find my father's father and parents - I Knew  exact  address where they lived. I also  knew all who  should be in the household , but I  still couldn't initially find them .  I  eventually found them - the father filled out the form  and listed all of his children by their initials only ...argh !!!

Kind regards:)

I've tried all sorts of searches. They seem to have disappeared. I know where they should be, at least I think I do but they have vanished into the ether. Still, I'll keep trying.

I am having the same problem, a family that  seems to have vanished into thin air, but I'll try using initials.

Anybody got any other hints? Roll Eyes

Also has anybody got the results page that goes straight to page 2 but will not allow you to go to page 1, or am I doing something wrong?
