baptism Stockort pre 1837
« on: Sunday 25 January 09 01:16 UTC (UK) »

Hoping someone has access to baptisms for Stockport pre 1837

I am trying to locate the baptismof the following people: Thomas kenyon born about 1786 and Phoebe kershaw born 1784. On the census 1841 .1851 etc they both listed their place of birth as Stockport.
Phoebe kershaw who married Thomas kenyon was buried at the Edgeley Wesleyan cemetery July 1852 .
Thomas kenyon died March 1868 and buried at Christ Church Anglican Church Wellington Road Heaton Norris.

Thank you

Thankyou for the information. I think this is her however on her sons marriage certificate in Australia her surname written as Cashier. I wonder if there are any records related to this name  in baptism records. I think I need to check both surnames .

Cheshire County Council maybe able to help, they found the baptisms of my husband's g.g.grandfather and siblings, although they were 1803 onwards, rather than 1784.  The staff are extremely helpful.  You can contact them by e-mail at recordoffice@cheshire.gov.uk
