WALTERS children COMPLETED
« on: Sunday 25 January 09 12:42 UTC (UK) »

Hello,

I am trying to trace the parents of Annie Walters born 1869 in Sezincote, Gloucestershire, England and Kate Walters born 1876 in Earlscroombe, Worcestershire.

Both girls were in boarding school together in 1881 in Highworth, Swindon. Altogether there 6 Walters children at this boarding school - I can make 4 of them as siblings just not Annie and Kate.

Any help would be most appreciated  Smiley

Many thanks
Lyndsey

Hi,

What info do you have to place them in Dorset?

Were the parents married in Dorset?

1871 - RG10/2655; Folio: 139; Page: 29 - Sezincote
Cottage in Stable Yard

transcribed Watters in Ancestry ... looks like Walters with the cross of the T too long ...

all kids born Sezincote

William Watters [sic ? ] 30  Head Groom Staffs, Hednesford?
Ann Watters 28  Wife Glos, Bourton On The Hill
William Watters 5  son
Emily Watters 3  dau
Annie Watters 2  dau
Hilda Watters 11 months  dau

and a bunch of servants - doubt if they should be enumerated together tho ?

the first 3 kids in the 1881 enumeration were all born Sezincote, so likely to be siblings .... but too young to be on the 1871

In 1881, the family are in Wroughton - William now a 'Trainer' ...

RG11; Piece: 2017; Folio: 64; Page: 30 - Wroughton

Theres a servant enumerated from 'Earls Croome' (Worcs) maybe she followed the family ?

you can see the 1881 free on Ancestry or Familysearch (lot of names in the list)

looking at the Walters kids in that boarding school, I'd say they were all siblings - the ones born mid-1870s reflecting a move that the family had between the census years ....

Hi Newf,

Fantastic - thanks very much. Thats makes perfect sense about boardering the kids during the move.

Great - I will now continue on the journey!!

Nanny Jan - thanks very much for looking at this.

Kind regards
Lyndsey
