Maria Sindall - Stretham

Hi.
I am looking for info on this Lady.She married JOHN FAIRCHILD in Ely 1912.
I have info on John but cannot find Date of Birth,Family Etc on Maria.There are two in the area Maria Sindall b 1869 d 1891 & Maria Sindall b 1894 Married 1916 Charles Westly,which counts them out.

John was b 1888 so i have looked for a Maria born around that time but no luck.Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

There are two Maria Sindalls in England in the 1901 census, both living in Stretham, Cambs

One was aged 7, the daughter of James 27 & Alice 27, born Stretham; and the other was aged 6 the daughter of Thompson 55 and Rebecca 49, also probably born Stretham (birthplace is blank)

As they are so close in age I don't think you can make any  assumptions as to who married who.

I would get her marriage cert to John Fairchild to confirm her father's name.

PS Just checked the 1911 index - both were living in Stretham age 17

PPS Both births are on FreeBMD - June 1893 and Sept 1894, both Ely reg district

The Maria Sindall who married Charles Westly on 25/4/1916 was aged 22 and her father was Thompson according to Stretham PRs

Surely by a process of elimination that must mean that your Maria Sindall was the daughter of James and Alice, and probably married in a parish other than Stretham!

I have looked through the Stretham Church registers and Maria's parents were James and Alice baptised 1893 he was described as a labourer.

There is a book written by Beatrice Stevens which has quite a lot of information on James known as Simmy by his friends, the book is out of print but we do have Cds of the book for sale at £10 each.
