Yes I managed to find the family in the other census records. James died in 1860 and Mary Ann in 1884.

I'm beginning to think that they must have been in Ireland in 1841. James was a plasterer by trade and may have been working there.

p.s. Arrabella (sometimes called Bella) Dooley never married and died in 1905.

I,v just stumbled into this.James Dooley and Mary Ann are my maternal GG Grand parents but until now did not know that her maiden name was Jennett.So thats more info to add to the Dooley Tree. I would be interested to know if there is anything I can help you with regarding the Dooley

If you are descended from the James Dooley and Mary Ann that I am researching then you are related to my husband. James and Mary Ann are his maternal Great Great Grandparents.

I have found that they had the following children:

Arabella
Ellen
James
Thomas
Mary Ann
Elizabeth
Joseph - This is his Great Grandfather
Margaret

What an outcome.Great news finding a common ancestor.
Thomasb1847 is my Great Grand Father.He married Jane Peet in 1867 their children were
Thomas b 1870
James b1872
Elizabeth Ann b1874
William Henry b1877
Joseph b1879
MARY Jane b1882
Francis b1884
Sarah Ellen b1886

John b 1890 m Liverpool 1910 Florence Garner b1891 d1931 Wellington NZ John d 1961 Wellington NZ
They are my Grandparents
.                                                                             
My Mother Florence Dooley was b 10 Harlow St Toxteth Park Sept 1911 migrated  NZ 1920 She is now in her 98th yr and is now in care in Adelaide Sth Australia (my Brother and Sister live in Adlaide

There are more decendants  of James and Mary Ann both paternal and maternal in NZ and Australia if you are interested

Well.....Thomas' brother.....James Dooley married Elizabeth Peet.....possibly a sister or cousin of Jane   Huh.......I've had not much luck in finding the Dooleys...possibly because they all emigrated   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Tongue
