Hi Carol, sorry have been away and only just got back and saw your message.  I am so so stuck with this party of the family I only know that Mary's father was a Michael Doyle and he was a farmer from Wexford I never thought that there would be different areas within Wexford. I know that Peter Dempsey was also a farmer again Wexford I am sorry I don't have much else to go on I think this is why I have come to a standstill.

Kind regards Gill

Hi Gill

If you take a look at this website   www.leitrim-roscommon.com you will find partial census 1901 for Wexford amongst others.  There are Doyle and Dempsey families on there.  I found a couple that might match you Dempsey and Doyle relatives.  The trick with this site is the less information you put in the more reslults you get.  I typed in just the county Wexford and the surname either Doyle or Dempsey.  Hope it helps  Smiley

Gillian,
If you go to Griffiths valuation on line for wexford you will findplenty of Dempsey & Doyle Families for Co. Wexford.  Grifiths was done between 1848-1864. So you should find something there too. Also try roots web irish ancestryfor wexford. Smiley

Hi there Kerry sorry this is the first time I have had chance to come back on here and saw your post.  This genealogy is for my cousin Pat and she is a direct descendent of Peter and Mary and her father was a Dempsey and have been struggling with this for about a year now.

Im sorry i havent been on been really busy. I made a mistake my great grandparents are peter and rebecca dempsey they are buried in crosstown cemetry, wexford. My grandmother is one of 9 children, maud dempsey. Just come back from wexford my grandfather passed away there last week.  I discovered that his mother was a doyle from wexford elizabeth shiels (doyle). I cant find out any more info on peter dempsey apart from possible siblings named aiden or micheal hope this helps. Let me know if you get any further with this.

regards Kerry
