Missng Ancestors - 1861 Census
« on: Sunday 01 February 09 13:42 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

I am looking on the 1861 census for my ancestors Reuben Cutler, Sarah and their son Walter. But I can't seem to find them... They have always lived around Lane End/Marlow.

Is there any sort of expalnation for this?

Matt,

Do you have them in other censuses?

If it's only the 1861 that you can't find them in,  the likely explanation is that their surname may have been mistranscribed.

If you give us dates and places of birth for the family members we can try looking for them.

Hi Matt

Was Reuben a chair maker? Was Walter born 1860?

If so, I can see them in Lane End

Ref is RG9 858 f 112

Will transcribe if you can't access the details.
