Please can anyone offer further information on Mary Ward born 1839 at Somercotes, Derbyshire and her family.
According to her marriage cert in 1863 Mary married Peter Henstock. Mary's father is named as George Ward.
I can see a family that fits in the 1841 census George Ward (father) Ann Ward (mother) and Mary Ward aged one yr. All living at Somercotes. Census ref--Alfreton, Derbyshire. Enumeration district 14, folio 39, page 7
I have looked for a marriage for George & Ann but cannot find them on the IGI.
If anyone would be able to tell me Ann's maiden name or any further information regarding the Ward family. Thank you Teresa

Have you looked at the 1851 census???
If it is the correct family "Ann" is entered as "Hannah"
Purchasing mary's birth cert would give her mother's maiden name

Thanks Sylvia, I have seen Mary Ward Baptism record and Parents are listed as George Ward & Ann. I cannot however find them on the 1851 & 1861 censuses. They were known to live around the Somercotes, Alfreton areas of Derbyshire.
Mary Ward did not marry until Dec 1863 at Birchwood Chapel, Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Hi,
Mary Ward, plus parents George & Hannah and sibling James are on
1851 HO 107/2123 Folio 570 Hucknall Notts.
1861 Parents are on Rg 9/2515 Folio 11 Somercotes Derbys
1861 Mary Ward age 21 born Somercotes is a dairy made in the house
of John Cubit RG9/2513 Folio 108 South Wingfield Derbys.
Hannah wife of George states she was born Birchover - a possible marriage
if George Ward = Ann Platts Sept Q 1838 Matlock 19 399.
I am assuming that her birth place is Birchover Nr. Matlock, Derbys.
