Me at The Mecca....1965

1851 look-up PLEASE Liverpool Hughes
« on: Friday 11 February 05 20:34 UTC (UK) »

Would some kind person help me with this one ?...

I think I have found my great great grandparents..but I need a bit
of help to prove it.

When my great grandparents married in 1864, (William Hughes to
Isabella Dagwell) it gave William's occupation as Timber Merchant,
and his father, Richard was classed as a gentleman......I didn't quite understand that one!

However, I have, on the 1871 census found.'

Richard Hughes     head age 63   Retired Timber Merchant              born at Hatherden (Hawarden?) Flintshire.

Sarah Hughes wife age 62 born Hatherden (Hawarden?) Flint.

Alice Adelaide dau age 22 born L'pool

There are also 2 Everton.

I have Alice Adelaide's birth certificate. 8th December 1848,
which gives the address as

Wetherfield/Netherfield Road . North Everton.

Would some one please look for this family in 1851??
Hopefully with a son called William born circa 1843......If you find
them...I will be ecstatic!!!...and of course, there may be other siblings.

Many, Many thanks

Iria....

What can I say to thankyou....

I am sure this is my family, the dates of birth certainly tie in for my great grandad William....and Sarah was my gran's name, eldest daughter named after HER gran ?

Emma and Alice Adelaide, were also names of my gran's sisters.re

It has been a long journey to get this far, and I am so grateful to every one on this site, for there help and support.

I will post as you suggest, for the address, but have just, in the last 10 minutes, found out that Netherfield Road North, is just
around the corner from Roscommon Street (wonderful things..
search engines!!)

Audrey,
Thank you, once again for your help...will really start looking for my Williams birth. Because I have Alice Adelaide's birth certificate
I now know that his mothers maiden name was Powell..

ps. I may be going to Leeds, but not for about a fortnight, will
not forget you

I am so very grateful...I really feel euphoric!!

G&T coming up!!
