Can anyone help please, with Mark WILKS' marriage to, I think, a Mary someone? I found a Mark WILKS and a Mary Jane RANFORD both married in the Sep. quarter of 1867 on the Free BMD.
Mark WILKS (son of Thomas WILKS and Elizabeth YOUNG) BORN HALLOW, WORCS. marriage to Mary (RANFORD?) . Mark baptised 1856. Mark and Mary had children: Fanny Elizabeth; Georgina; and Mark. I'd like to track this family if I can to the present day and contact descendants.

There is a Tree on A-------y of this family with the Wilks side going back several generations 
Mary Ranford was born Acton, Beauchamp, Worcs, 1856 according to the Tree, but no other info other than the marriage TATI found for you on her.

They do not have anything forward with the descendants of Mark and Mary Wilks. Do you also want to go back( or do you have this?) or are you just interested in present descendants??
Tree has Elizabeth remarrying after Thomas Wilks ( 1827-1866) dies, but lists children but not marriage or husbands first name.

So Mark has 4 half-siblings.
This is probably why he is hard to find on 1871 census, as his Mother had remarried by then.

Tati, thank you for the marriage of Mark WILKS to Mary RANFORD Sep 1888. That certainly sounds right and the 1891 information fits in.
Trish, many thanks. I really would like to access the family tree if I could. Is it possible? I can go back a little way, but the Tree probably has much more information than I have. I do have Elizabeth WILKS re-marriage to Edward TUDGEY and then the family scandal!! re Emily and Edward's marriage .
I didn't have any information about Mary RANFORD, so thank you both for this.

Thank you trish1120 I found the deaths on the Free BMD, but was somewhat helped by having (from somewhere) already got a year for Richard YOUNG and Martha, his wife. And I do have Elizabeth's death certificate. I've got stuck with Thomas' grandfather, Joseph WILKS (& wife Anne REEVES) and wondered if your sources can help with that generation. As far as I can tell, Richard was an only child; his parents married in Winchcombe, Gloucs. but Richard ended up in Grimley, Worcs.
Re Mark WILKS being in the household of his aunt and uncle at the 1881 census I rather think it was because of the family scandal which made him leave home and go to his mother's family. Could be wrong am speculating, but loyalty to his mother would be a compelling reason.
