Headstone search - Rosehill Cemetery, Montrose

Greetings,

If anyone is strolling through Rosehill cemetery, I wonder if they could locate a headstone for: David Robb who died June 25th 1859 aged 71. As his son was in business, he could be lucky enough to have a headstone.

It is my hope that David's wife, Elizabeth, is buried with him.

Hi Jamjar,

I am going to Montrose in the midterm week to find my gt grandmothrs grave.  I emaild the 'Angus council' and askd if they would b abl to locate it.  Within 2 hours thy had maild m back complt with a map.  They are very good and sem to hav a tam dedicated to this.  You can let m know if you still want a picture though.

Hi Jam Jar,
I am leaving Edinburgh at 8.30 in the morning, so this will leave me plenty of time to go and have a look for you.  Wish I had thought and I would have emailed them myself.  I usually get a reply in 2housrs from them.  Will send picky if I get on and locate the grave.

Hi Jamjar,

Just to say that I had a quick look today but to no avail.  I am going back in a few weeks so by that time you should have the details of the location.  I discovered my gt grannys grave today, and guess what........it was the same place as I located my 3 x gt grandmothers grave.....exactly the same one.....ah well at leasat I know now.  Her name is not on the headstone though, and my gt gt grandfathers brother is also in there.
Just let me know and I will get you a picky the next time I am there.

I was thinking that Jamjar, but the stone seems to be quite porous and kinda delicate.  Must be the sea air I think.  There were a lot of them very worn/eroded and the facing had fallen off some and is lying at the side.

Following is the reply: Unfortunately Burial Records for Rosehill Cemetery begin in 1894 so unfortunately the interment that you are looking for predates records.
