Adams family of Yeovil and Dundee Scotland

Henry Adams 1823-1890 and his family were all involved in the Glove industry in Yeovil and in 1852 moved to Scotland where they sent up glove making factories.
I have been told that this Adams family are connected to the American Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams but have been unable to trace the connection.
Anybody else interested in Henry and his brother Robert?
