from IGI:
George Walker married Elizabeth Farquhar October 1789 Longside.
William Piccard and Elizabeth Brown married 1825 Longside.
Mary Brown Pickard Christened 1826 Longside. Robert Pickard Christened 1839 Longside.
Where did the information on William's mother come from?

According to the IGI extracted records
Mary Farquhar was christened 1762 Strichen, ABD to William Farquhar and Isabel Gall.
They also had a daughter Elizabeth Farquhar christened 1759 Strichen Aberdeen.
I think your contact may have got their generations confused. William Pickard should have been born around 1805, so it is possible that his mother was born several decades earlier, especially if she married late or he had elder siblings.
No sign of a marriage of Mary on IGI so far, so can't join the generations if they are the right family.

Hi Kirsty
The mistake could be entirely mine. The information was just scribbled down through a phone conversation. As I said before, I haven't looked at it since, so it was my interpretation of a muddle! Re-reading I see the possible error - sorry! I also have noted:
William & Mary married in Holbeech. I have under Mary's name 1806 and then beside that 9/3/1806 - Sileby - that could be the date of William's christening, rather than her own. Under Isabel Gall I wrote 1762 and 21/11/1762, which would be Mary's birth/christening.
I also have a marriage date which I think is for Elizabeth Farquhar to George Walker as 12/9/1784.
Sorry for the confusion. As I say I haven't looked at this in a long time and haven't verified any of it.

That might be why I have struggled to find anything - I was looking in Aberdeen!
It's not definitive, but it looks likely that George Walker was related to William Pickard as being his uncle by marriage? Elizabeth Farquhar being probable sister to William's mother Mary Farquhar?
If Anne wants confirmation then the next step would probably be to view all relevent OPR entries and try and confirm.

Hi Kirsty,
Sorry i took so long to get back. I'm getting confused here lol. I found out that Mary and Elizabeth were sisters born in Strichen. In the 1851 census Elizabeth was living with Joseph and Elizabeth Pickard at the ripe old age of 94. She was classed as an aunt and a pauper/general servant.
So, Elizabeth Farquhar was married to George Walker? Is that right?. I wonder where Elizabeth is buried as there is no mention of her on the tombstone.
Also i would love to know where William and Mary are buried. I will search again.
Thanks again for the info you provided. I am thoroughly enjoying going right back in time.
Thanks again
Anne

Hi Renard,
Did you notice on Alexander Websters christening, directly underneath that Mary Pickards parents (William and Elizabeth) had a child on the same day!. George, born 23/08/1846. Alexander was probably brought up with them. Have you found out anymore?.

Hi Ann, Yes Alexander was brought up by William and Elizabeth found him on census with them cant remember which year have a note of it will need to check.
Still cant find death of James Rennie looked at the most likely ones on Scotlands people but no luck , will need to start checking a wider age difference. Mary described as widow of James Rennie on her death certificate she had a daughter born in the 1860s Rennie was not the father of this child so presume he died prior to this event.
