Charles Dunbar/Mary Fyvie @ Fraserburgh - completed, thank you
« on: Tuesday 03 February 09 09:50 UTC (UK) »

Good morning.....

Am having problems locating death of above Charles Dunbar - born @ K*nnethmont (c1816).....

In 1851 census, he was @ Fraserburgh (messenger @ arms/auctioneer) with wife and two children...

In 1861 census, he was @ Fraserburgh (writer/public notary) with wife and various children....

In 1871 census, Mary was widow/grocer....

Last child, Charles born @ Fraserburgh (1864) and wedding of eldest son William Robert Dunbar/Elizabeth Smith @ Fraserburgh (1871) has father - now Charles Edward Gordon Dunbar, messenger @ arms, deceased, so looking @ 1864-1871 "window"

Have tried every variation of Charles Dunbar (ScotlandsPeople) for death and/or will = nothing....

Death of Mary Dunbar nee Fyvie @ St Nicholas (1909) has her as widow of Charles Dunbar, writer

Any ideas/help would be appreciated......

Hello - go to

http://edu.archive.scotsman.com/

Type in Charles Dunbar - when that page loads

Go to the bottom of the page and put in the year parameters that you have.  It'll give an article which has a Charles Dunbar writer in Fraserburgh dying of cholera in 1866.  Any problems please get back to me as I've saved the article

Thank you both so much......with hubbys help, finally managed to find article in newspaper, but appears no registration of death in 1866 in Aberdeenshire.
Suppose was a situation of everyone thinking someone else had "done" the necessary....

Also, will make contact with person who posted the query.....

Thank you again
