Hi,
i'm trying to trace the above Peter Jackson who married Bethshua Hoyton in Stoke Damerel in 1761.
I read on another site that someone had found a Bethshua Hoyton born in 1740,but can't confirm it.
As for Peter,he was a member of the Cornish militia and his children seem to be born in Cornwall,Probus for his son,also called Peter.
The family seem to move back to Cornwall and settle in Camborne,i can't prove it but i wonder if the first Peter was originally from there and was only in Devon because of the Militia,apparentle Stoke Damerel/plymouth was a fort at the time,
if anyone's done any research on the family or has any tip's to suggest please feel free,
thank's.

Hi Alan,

There is the marriage of

Peter JACKSON = Mary PENTIRE 21 Oct 1733 Camborne

Now there is the baptism for

Peter JACK 16 Apr 1738 Camborne Son of Peter

There are several children with father Peter listed under JACK and some under JACKSON. I do not see a marriage for Peter JACK. None of the baptisms overlap and appear from 1735 - 1746.

Also note an earlier Petter JACKSON and Mary his wife who married 13 Apr 1700 Camborne. Son Peter baptised 1 Nov 1707

Bathshua I have not had any luck with - Biblical name (daughter of Shua, wife of Judas) Shua - Wealth - could be found as Bathsheba also, but alas I do not see a baptism for her in Cornwall.

i've come across Peternell Jackson too,Bathsheba or Bathshua,i wonder where she came from?
I have the marriage detail's,as i said Peter's from the cornish militia but there's no note on Bathshua's to say where she's from,hmm.
