Hi tina, I eventually found the marriage cert for sarah toner and john young.
however i got it wrong her surname was actualy Paul. But her mothers Maiden name was Toner!

Sarah Paul and john Young married in 1907 peebles scotland.
Sarah was 18 years old so that would make her born in 1889.

Her Father was Edward Paul,
Mother was Sarah Toner.

Do you know if your great grandfathers sister had children and if she married?

just wondering if your Sarah Toner could me my Sarah paul's mother?
Because it could be possible as your Sarah Would be 21 when my Sarah Was born in 1889

P.s All these Sarah's can get a bit confusing cant they : Cheesy,
and i'm also called Sarah too lol Tongue

hope to hear back from you

With that birth place showing in 1901, this might be Sarah Tonnar's birth details, showing on IGI:

SARAH TONNAR Birth:21 JUN 1863 Peebles, Peebles
Parents:SAMUEL TONNAR and ELISABETH FERGUSON

Which might then connect to this 1891 census entry - transcription of surnames a bit messy, you might want to look at the original to confirm:

Sarah Townor    26, lodger, pedlar, b. Peebles
Sarah Sall 2, lodger, b. Gorebridge, Mid Lothian

Address: 24 Chapel St Fox's Lodging Ho, Dunfermline, Fife

Hi Monica, I think thats them. I have Sarah Paul's  Marriage cert to John W young.
They married in1907  and Sarah was 18  which calculates her birth year to1889.  On the census above Sarah paul is 11 in 1901 and calculates her birth year to1890. But although it looks like theres a year of a diffrence, She could have been 11 nearlly 12.

Does that make sense?
Il try and Find Sarah Toners Birth, marriage or Death cert and il also try and  match them up with the census you found
