William

Fraid there is no way of searching for an exact birth date after 1855 on Scottish online records (Scotland's People is only source)

A check of James Brown in 1924 shows 78 records and Buchanan 17.

As these records are after 1908 you cannot see them so there ius no way of checking the parents and at £10 a cert a wee tad expensive.

Sorry but there is no way you can find this guy for free. Smiley

Re marriage records these stop online at 1933. He wouldn't have been old enough to marry then so only way to see them is a visit to GROS in Edinburgh or Park Cicrus in Glasgow or if you are in Scotland and your local authority does it, book an hour session for £10 to go through the records with registrar.

Sorry can't be any more help

hi william  Smiley

thinking along the same lines as ann  Sad
but thinking sideways and given the date of birth is it possible that the reason he
left scotland was because he was in the army and married a german girl after the
second world war 1945 +

maybe  Undecided

i have his birth certificate.
and yes he was in the army that is how he met his wife
i have looked for his marriage and death at park curcus i looked  for two hours all in but came up with nothing at all.
the last time anyone seen him
was in 1954 and he was married
but i asked again yesterday
and they think he went to germany
or it might be canada or new zealand
you cant get a place at park circus because they only book for two months at a time now.
i will have to phone my aunt and ask her
when she comes back from holiday
